Check out the winners of the 2025 Chapter Challenge and hear why your chapter should take part

The H.O.G. Ride 365⢠programme invites you to put your riding to the test each year and challenge yourself to ride further â after all, owning a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle is all about the ride. Whether you prefer to ride alone or in company, itâs easy to get involved and be rewarded for your efforts. One such initiative is the annual Chapter Challenge, which pits individual chapters against one another to compete for the most mileage accrued across the year.
How the Chapter Challenge works
As there is some variation in chapter sizes, this challenge offers two streams for recognition: total mileage logged and average mileage per chapter member. Chapter camaraderie and community are among the highlights of Harley Owners Group® membership and this challenge provides the perfect opportunity to band together and share the ride, wherever the road might take you, while being rewarded for doing what you love best.
Chapters from across Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) all participate, creating a vast, competitive landscape â and making victory all the more of an achievement. Overall winners are crowned, and regional winners are also named, celebrating national successes and trailblazers. Scroll to the end for a run-down of the top-placed chapters for 2025.

Leading the way
The UK topped the international league table for overall mileage logged in 2025, with the top three spots held, in descending order, by Mancunium Chapter, Dunedin Chapter and Geordie Chapter. Mancunium Chapterâs grand total of 778,254 miles (1,252,478km), collectively logged by participating members, is an impressive feat. This also earned the chapter third place internationally for total average miles per member, a testament to the widespread engagement and shared enthusiasm from members across the chapter, who worked together to make sure all of their miles counted.
âI was honoured to finish first in overall chapter mileage and receive the award for the most chapter ride-outs,â shares Gill Singleton, assistant head road captain and Ladies of Harley® officer for Mancunium Chapter. âAchievements like these are not just personal milestones â they reflect the strength and spirit of our chapter. Being part of such an active and supportive group makes every ride more meaningful.
âRiding simply wouldnât be the same without the friends beside you and the bikes behind you. That shared experience â the camaraderie, the laughter and the unspoken bond on the road â is what makes our chapter so special,â she adds. âYouâll find me out every Sunday, making the most of the riding season, much the amusement (and occasional frustration!) of my family, who know Iâm largely AWOL during the summer months.â
Mancunium Chapter enjoyed riding together and having fun both at home and abroad. From their home in Manchester, the chapter is ideally located for runs into the wild beauty of the Peak District National Park. Gill also organises monthly rides for ladies and pillions to go out and discover the best roads the north-west of England has to offer. In 2025, chapter excursions took members on new adventures, including a trip to Norfolk where they spent a fantastic weekend with Iceni Chapter; five nights away watching the Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy), during which they couldnât resist doing a few laps of the famous circuit themselves; joining Jersey Chapter for the HOGs Around the Rock rally; and riding across to Magic Bike Rüdesheim, where they soaked up the sun and stunning surroundings in the German countryside.

Close contenders
Dunedin Chapter was hot on the heels of the leaders in the overall distance logged and is stepping up to try to top the charts for 2026. âWeâve already registered and been out,â says Assistant Director and Road Captain, Anthony Batsford. âThe only problem with being in Scotland is the very short riding season â but fingers crossed weâll cover more miles this year. As we already go on ride-outs and solo outings, why not use those miles for the challenge? Itâs not hard for riders to submit mileage and VIN â the real challenge is for the chapter mileage officer, who spends hours entering all the details onto the computer!â
Some of the 2025 highlights for Dunedin Chapter members included a ride to Iron Bridge in Shropshire, a trip over to Lindisfarne (also known as Holy Island) just off the coast of Northumberland, and hosting Thunder in the Glens. âBeing part of the road crew for Thunder and looking back to see 1,000 bikes as I went round Lochindorb was a pretty spectacular sight,â remarks Anthony.
The chapter head into the 2026 challenge with a refreshed determination. âItâs part of being in the chapter and itâs a challenge,â says New Members Officer, Vicki Solanis. âI got the highest ladiesâ mileage in the chapter last year and overall we would like to be first again.â
New Member Rep, Craig Pearce, adds: âI think it makes me strive to record all my trips and inspires me to do more. Second is good, but we could have done better â weâll participate again and get more miles done.â
The hat trick
Midland Chapter Switzerland is holding its place at the top for the third year in a row in the average mileage logged per member at 3,794 miles (6,106km) â an outstanding triumph. Germanyâs Sunset Chapter came a close second, followed by Mancunium Chapter, Geordie Chapter and South Chapter Poland in the top five.
âWe are incredibly proud of our members for this achievement,â beams Midland Chapterâs Director, Marc Kilian. âIt highlights our chapterâs passion and dedication, proving that even as a smaller country, our committed group of riders can truly make a difference.
âOur members had a blast enjoying the camaraderie and excitement of the open road, whether it was cruising through the beautiful Alps or taking part in local events,â he adds. âThose shared moments really inspired everyone to rack up the miles. Weâre looking forward to what next year has in store and canât wait to keep this momentum going.â

Beyond the challenge
Riding challenges are a great way to get rewarded for doing what you love â or a good excuse to ride further! While the challenge can be a useful motivator, it has always been about the ride. âI was inspired to take part in the 2025 Chapter Challenge because our chapter has been growing steadily and with that growth comes a real sense of pride and momentum,â shares Mancunium Chapterâs Membership Officer and Ride-out Co-ordinator, James Thomas. âEvery ride completed counted towards both the chapter and the individual mileage awards, and that recognition became a goal we were all determined to push further than the previous year.
âOur director and committee set the tone early on, leading from the front, encouraging us and showing what was possible when we committed as a group,â he continues. âMy wife and I took part in more than 40 chapter ride-outs. They bring together long-standing members and new faces, all sharing the road, the weather and the miles. You build friendships without even trying, and before you know it, youâve covered thousands of miles together. The award is a bonus; the pride comes from knowing we earned it simply by doing what we love.â
Fellow chapter member Reece Calderbank echoes these sentiments. âI hope everyone gets to experience the camaraderie and adventure that Harley-Davidson represents, continuing the tradition of exploration,â he smiles. âOur chapterâs impressive achievement will hopefully inspire others to seek their own adventures and help expand our community. Looking ahead, 2026 promises another vibrant riding season. On top of these adventures, Iâve been fortunate enough to become a road captain and now sell H-D® motorcycles at the Manchester dealership, helping others begin their own journeys.â
