New riding routes for 2025: part four

As part of RIDE 365®, we select a handful of U.S. destinations each year that are famed for their riding experiences and reward members for completing them. We have 15 great rides for 2025—here are the next three…

10 HAMER, SC
SOUTH OF THE BORDER

CHECK-IN LOCATION:
Get a picture with giant Pedro and his “South of the Border” sign in front of the Sombrero Restaurant at South of the Border: 3346 US-301 North, Hamer, SC 29547

South of the Border in Hamer, South Carolina, is a throwback to the golden age of motoring, when kitsch was king and tacky roadside attractions battled for attention from passing motorists. Founded in 1949 as “South of the Border Beer Depot” by Alan Schafer, the business attracted throngs of thirsty travelers who had driven south through neighboring North Carolina’s dry counties. An astute businessman, Schafer added a restaurant, motel, campground, souvenir shop, gas station, amusement park, reptile lagoon, and much more over the years.

11 OARK, AR
OARK GENERAL STORE

CHECK-IN LOCATION:
“Oark Café” sign located in front of the building: 117 County Road 5241, Oark, AR 72852

Deep in the rural heart of the Ozarks, the Oark General Store and Café is the oldest continuously operating store in Arkansas. Founded in 1890 and added to the Arkansas Register of Historic Places in 1995, its rustic interior features original wood floors and ceiling. Now more café than convenience store, its breakfast, burgers, and homemade pies make it a popular stop for riders traversing the Ozark National Forest. Harley-Davidson Pan America riders will find plenty of off-road riding opportunities nearby.

12 TAMWORTH, NH
NARROWS BRIDGE AT LAKE CHOCORUA

CHECK-IN LOCATION:
Your photo should include all or part of the Narrows Bridge on Chocorua Lake Rd., Tamworth, NH 03886 (near the intersection of Chocorua Mountain Hwy. [NH State Route 16] and Chocorua Lake Rd).

Overlooking Mount Chocorua in New Hampshire’s White Mountains, the Narrows Bridge is situated amid almost 1,000 acres of pristine woodland and lake basin protected by the Chocorua Lake Conservancy. The picturesque cedar-railed bridge, first constructed in 1802 and rebuilt many times over the years, sits between Chocorua and Little Lakes. For Harley-Davidson Pan America riders, Chocorua Lake lies along the North East Backcountry Discovery Route (BDR), which runs 1,300 miles through seven states.
