Protecting you and your motorcycle…

Harley-Davidson is introducing some new financial and motorcycle products in 2026 that really up the game for UK & Ireland owners…

First revealed by Harley-Davidson Financial Services Country Operations Manager Peter Dean at the UK and Ireland Regional Officers Connection in October 2025, attended by representatives from all 28 chapters in the region, we find out more about three new exclusive insurance offerings for UK customers and a nano coating appearance protection system that not only protects paintwork but is a complete solution even covering engine, exhausts, seat and windshield.  In addition there are new finance deals for 2026 across the UK and Ireland.

Over the years at events and in general feedback, one of the questions regularly asked by members is how H-D insurance compares with other providers. Yes, it is the most comprehensive package you can buy for your motorcycle, but what if you don’t need everything that’s included and still want some of the Harley-Davidson core benefits?

Well, the team at HDFS have answered this question quite comprehensively – no pun intended! – for 2026 in the UK. A new three-tiered setup has been introduced that strips the cover back for those not intending to travel a lot, especially abroad, but allows you to tailor it to your needs if you do. And it’s available now.

“By reducing elements of the cover you can save cash and it allows us to provide greater coverage to a wider range of Harley owners,” says Peter.

The three tiers are:

HARLEY | BARE BONES COVER™ – this is a completely new insurance level and does what it says on the tin. It’s basic cover that provides protection and gets you road legal.

HARLEY | CUSTOM COVER™ – you pick the value-add elements you want to have, but do remember if you add a lot of features, cost-wise the next tier might actually provide better value. You can always call and ask a customer service representative to help you choose and save the most money.

HARLEY | ULTRA COVER™ – so, this is pretty much the full bells and whistles cover that we know and love, renamed. Includes European travel for periods up to 90 days at a time, Helmet and Leather Coverage, Roadside Assistance, including Homestart, relay and repatriation if required of rider, pillion and bike. With legal cover up to £100,000.

We asked Peter what each package had in common: “We still retain three important points that we feel make our offer unique in the marketplace, these are first and foremost the ability to ride other Harleys. As always when you are H-D insured, with the owner’s permission you can ride their bike under your insurance.

“Other exclusive benefits include Agreed Value Cover – all H-D insurance offers a no-quibble payout following a dealership valuation, including any bolt-on approved accessories, and obviously we have H-D Network Repair. All repair work will be done by trained and approved H-D technicians, not some faceless repair centre recommended by other insurers.

“But that’s not all – all three tiers provide Multibike Cover. Provided you have at least one Harley you can add up to four additional bikes, regardless of manufacturer, which will save on multiple policy fees. And finally, there’s also a Classic Bike Rating for any bikes over 10 years old.”

According to Peter, if you’re riding your bike abroad it’s still definitely worth upgrading to the top tier. “For European travel we would always look at the Ultra Cover as this includes the Roadside Assistance with repatriation so you, any pillion and your bike can be transferred back home safely. Separate expense for this alone can be €2,000-€3,000 just for bike transportation.”

And do we still get a H.O.G.® discount on the more value-orientated tiers? Definitely. “Of course H.O.G. members still get their 10% discount in both the UK and Ireland! And remember, there are further discounts for IAM and Advanced Rider qualifications and if trackers are fitted.”

INTERESTING FINANCE FROM 7.9%
But saving money on insurance isn’t the only offer HDFS has available going into the new year. While a special interest rate across 2025 models expires on 31 December 2025, some new rates are being announced.

“For our CVO and Trike Customers HDFS is pleased to announce a rate of 7.9% for 2026, regardless of term of agreement, while the new standard finance rate is reducing in the UK from 9.8% to 8.8%, so there has never been as good a time to check out the affordability options on a new Harley-Davidson®. Speak to your dealer now to see what offers exist to complement your purchase.”

H-D APPEARANCE PROTECTION
Another unique offering that Harley-Davidson has just introduced to the UK & Ireland and is well worth talking to your local H-D® dealership about is Appearance Protection. It’s a brand-new product that not only protects the main paintwork elements but also your engine and exhaust, and even adds extra protection to other essentials on your Harley.

In essence, it’s a ceramic and graphene chemical mix designed to put a hydrophobic coating all around your bike, adding an extra layer of protection. The product has been specifically developed and refined in the UK and is approved by Harley-Davidson Product Development Center in Milwaukee and certified for use on H-D motorcycles and trikes. That’s on all paint, including matt and chrome finishes. Its key property is that it doesn’t erode when exposed to heat, which is what makes it so motorcycle specific.

“A lot of paint protection products are car-specific – they are developed for the four-wheel market and lose their protective ability if applied to anything other than paintwork,” Peter tells us.

“We have worked to provide a product that retains its protective qualities when exposed to the heat generated by the engine and exhaust, while most standard products lose their protective element after as little as six weeks, we have tested this under extreme heat conditions. Also, as part of the pack we include non-slip seat protection and visor treatment too.

“Even better news, the genuine H-D product does not require additional treatment top-ups from a specific shampoo. Customers are advised to use PH neutral shampoos and we recommend H-D Quick Wash or H-D Sunwash Concentrate, which both meet the criteria.”

Cost will depend on the bike size and time required to apply the coating, so get in touch with your official Harley-Davidson dealership to find out more. Also we’ve been told that the bike needs to be spotlessly clean – otherwise a pro wash might be needed at the dealership to prepare it.
