Il est n\u00e9 au d\u00e9but du 20e\u202fsi\u00e8cle, devenant ainsi un m\u00e9tier au moment o\u00f9 Harley-Davidson \u00e9tait en train de transformer le monde de la moto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une exposition au H-D Museum explore l\u2019art, l\u2019ing\u00e9nierie et le design industriel chez Harley-Davidson. Une moto embl\u00e9matique, cr\u00e9\u00e9e avec l\u2019aide de l\u2019\u00e9minent designer industriel Brooks Stevens, originaire de Milwaukee, donne un aper\u00e7u des collaborations \u00e9troites essentielles \u00e0 la conception d\u2019une moto.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hog.thecreativeplot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/exhibit_title_panel-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1034\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Stevens connaissait les deux familles Harley et Davidson. Il avait m\u00eame un lien avec Willie G. Davidson, qui, maintenant retrait\u00e9, a longtemps occup\u00e9 le poste de chef styliste de la Motor Company. Willie a commenc\u00e9 sa carri\u00e8re au sein de l\u2019entreprise de Brooks Stevens \u00e0 son retour \u00e0 Milwaukee apr\u00e8s avoir obtenu son dipl\u00f4me en arts en Californie.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hog.thecreativeplot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/hydraglide4-836x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1026\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br>Parmi les nombreuses modifications effectu\u00e9es apr\u00e8s la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Harley-Davidson a pris la d\u00e9cision de changer la suspension avant de ses plus gros mod\u00e8les, les EL et FL. C\u2019est vers Brooks Stevens que l\u2019entreprise s\u2019est tourn\u00e9e pour ce qui devait \u00eatre la premi\u00e8re application du design industriel sur une moto\u202f: l\u2019embl\u00e9matique Hydra-Glide 1949.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/hog.thecreativeplot.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/08\/hydraglide5-1024x469.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1029\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le design faisait appel \u00e0 un assemblage de ressorts et d\u2019amortisseurs dans des tubes t\u00e9lescopiques. Les amortisseurs hydrauliques n\u2019\u00e9taient pas une nouveaut\u00e9 sur les v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 moteur, mais ils apportaient plus de confort et une meilleure maniabilit\u00e9 par rapport au design pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent. Et c\u2019est avec ce nouveau design que le nom\u202fHydra-Glide a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9, ne faisant alors r\u00e9f\u00e9rence qu\u2019\u00e0 la partie avant de la moto \u2013 Hydra\u202f\u00e0 cause des nouveaux amortisseurs hydrauliques et Glide pour marquer le confort ainsi apport\u00e9. La technologie assurant une conduite en douceur a aussi rapidement \u00e9t\u00e9 int\u00e9gr\u00e9e \u00e0 la suspension arri\u00e8re. La peinture retenue est celle du mod\u00e8le de 1956.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">L\u2019exposition au mus\u00e9e pr\u00e9sente une Hydra Glide 1949 qui est arriv\u00e9e au d\u00e9partement des archives directement apr\u00e8s sa sortie de l\u2019usine.
