Amidst great hoopla, a ceremonial golden spike was driven and rail lines from the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railways were joined together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Today\u2019s visitors to this powerful celebration of American innovation can see parts of the original railroad grade and a half mile-long stretch of track, upon which sit two working replica steam locomotives.
