The run to Margaret River is super easy from Perth. The coastal town of Bunbury is home to a distinctive lighthouse and is a good place for refreshment after a couple of hours in the saddle. Stopping in Busselton is essential if only to experience the 1,841-metre-long jetty \u2013 the longest timber-piled jetty in the southern hemisphere \u2013 that has its own train to take you to the Underwater Observatory at the end. A short blast down the highway will have you in Margaret River; with an array of food, fine wine and craft beer that\u2019s temptation enough to end your ride here, but don\u2019t. Wind your way south through the Boranup Forest, karri trees towering 60 metres above you, until you run out of land at the impressive Cape Leuwin lighthouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/strong>Take a self-guided tour into Calgardup Cave, just off Caves Road. There are a lot of steps, but it\u2019s not hard and it\u2019s worth getting down there. You haven\u2019t seen darkness or experienced silence like it. Hard hat, map and torches are provided in the entry fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<\/strong>Winding your way through forests of towering Karri trees, some as tall as 60 metres, is sublime. The Boranup Lookout which is accessed by an unsealed but rideable road offers stunning views of the coastline and Hamelin Bay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
