Edmundston to St. Andrews

New Brunswick | 347km

This scenic route takes you from Edmundston, at the northwest corner of the province, all the way down to Saint Andrews at the southwest tip. The first half of the route takes you along the Trans Canada Highway, which follows the Saint John River Valley through gentle hills and fertile farmland – stop at some of the many farmers’ markets to load up on supplies for a picnic lunch. At Hartland, detour east off the highway to visit the Hartland Covered Bridge, a National Historic Site. At 391m long, it’s the world’s longest covered bridge. Continue along the Trans Canada to NB-3 and then NB-127 to Saint Andrews. Also known as St. Andrews by-the-Sea, this charming town is another National Historic Site, recognized for its heritage buildings from the late 18th century.

Fun and festivities
While this region has plenty to do whenever you ride, consider timing your visit to align with one of the many local festivals – like Festival Inspire, a travelling street art and mural festival that lasts all summer; Edmundston’s Festival Royal, an electronic music festival in July; or the Indulge Food and Wine Festival in Saint Andrews in October.
