Live, laugh, love. That’s the motto of this lady biker and sacristan from the Münsterland region of Germany.
Britta has become an integral part of the German H.O.G.® scene and almost every rally-goes knows the “Pink Lady” and her picture-perfect Sportster® of the same name. She has been regularly winning prizes at custom bike shows for a decade – most recently at this year’s European H.O.G. Rally in Medulin. We caught up with Britta to find out her story.

Congratulations for winning the People’s Choice in Medulin. How many custom bikes have you built or designed?
Thank you very much for the congratulations! I’m not actually a bike builder, I just fell in love with the Sportster Seventy-Two® in 2014 and customised it to my liking after I bought it. My Pink Lady is from a limited edition of 300 Hard Candy Custom Seventy-Two bikes, so it’s already a very rare and exclusive model. The individual modifications, such as the tank rail and the sissy bar, were designed by me and implemented by an experienced stainless steel fitter with great attention to detail. Angels and angel wings are deliberately featured in my design because I feel a deep connection to them. I firmly believe that an angel is watching over me in heaven: my mum.
It sounds like you are a very religious woman?
Yes, I am. I have been working as a sexton at the Protestant church in my hometown of Brochterbeck for more than 20 years, even though I am actually a media designer by training. Social engagement is also very important to me in my free time. At the same time, I am a very cheerful biker — anyone who’s seen me at one of the numerous events I attend every year knows that I never mope around.
And what’s next for your custom bike career?
Over the past 11 years, I’ve won at least one award every year with the Pink Lady. People love my motorcycle – and I love the people I get to meet through it. H.O.G. events are very special to me. The atmosphere is friendly, warm and exuberant. This year’s European H.O.G. Rally in Croatia was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was overwhelming, and then the unbelievable happened: I won the Custom Bike Show at an international H.O.G. Rally, and none other than Bill Davidson personally presented me with the award! I received the greatest recognition a Harley rider could wish for – it doesn’t get any better than that! That’s why I decided that this would be my last time participating in a Custom Bike Show.

But surely you’ll still come to H.O.G. events with the Pink Lady?
Of course! We will continue to attend as many national and international rallies as possible together. I was not only in Medulin, but also in Senigallia last year, and of course I attend the European Bike Week in Faak, Harley-Davidson Euro Festival in France, Hamburg Harley Days, Ruhrpott Meeting in Hattingen, Magic Bike Rüdesheim, Bike Days Willingen and Harley Days Dresden as often as I can. I would also like to go to the 2026 European H.O.G. Rally in Cascais, Portugal, but I don’t know yet if that will work out.
Incidentally, I’ve been reporting on these events as a freelancer for a biker magazine for five years now – a job I really enjoy and which allows me to meet interesting and well-known people such as singer Peter Maffay, actor Wolfgang Fierek, TV presenter Jean Pütz, Paul Teutul from Orange County Choppers and Kolja Rebstock from Harley-Davidson, just to name a few. One highlight was my encounter with Bill Davidson. He is a wonderful, down-to-earth person who takes time for those he meets, listens to them, and patiently takes countless photos with fans. Bill gave me the greatest gift of my biker life by signing my trophy and my saddlebag – a moment I will always cherish.
When did you first come into contact with Harley-Davidson?
At the tender age of 12. I was riding my orange Bonanza bicycle, with a foxtail and colourful ribbons dangling from it, through our village when suddenly a thunderous Harley® came towards me and headed straight for me. It was a real chopper with a long fork, high handlebars, forward footrests, a US flag on the tank and a cool guy in the saddle: cowboy boots, jet helmet, sunglasses, long hair and a moustache. He wanted to ask me something trivial, but little Britta couldn’t get a word out and just stood there with her mouth open and her face bright red. I was head over heels in love – not with the rocker, who was much too old for me, but with the chopper. My love for Harley-Davidson had been awakened. I watched Easy Rider several times, and for me it was clear: one day I would ride a Harley. For the time being, however, I had to settle for smaller two-wheelers, none of which came close to my dream bike.
And when did you get your first Harley?
Much later. I got married – to a biker, of course – but I always rode myself. Sitting on the back was never an option for me. I had two accidents that resulted in hospital stays, so I hung up my biker gear when I became a mother. From then on, my family took absolute priority for 20 years. But I kept stopping by the Harley dealer and dreaming of a Milwaukee Iron. In 2013, the time had come: at the age of 45, I finally bought a Harley-Davidson from the H-D® dealer in Osnabrück: a purple, 13-year-old Sportster. And I joined the Ladies of Harley®. The Sportster was a beautiful motorcycle, but I really fell in love the following year when I saw my current Harley at an H-D dealer party in Bielefeld. It was love at first sight! It stood on a rotating platform and sparkled in its sensational Candy Pink paint. I was immediately fascinated, thinking of flower power and the ’70s. It suits me, I’m a rock lady. I stood paralysed in front of “my” machine – just like when I encountered the chopper rocker in my childhood. The dealer took a photo of me on the bike, sold me the rare motorcycle, and gave me the photo of the two of us when he handed over my Pink Lady. The picture frame says “Live your dream…” And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since. I love and live the Harley-Davidson lifestyle!
It sounds like you don’t want to change anything?
Why should I? I’m 57 years old now and hope that I can continue to ride around with my Pink Lady and meet other hoggies and bikers for many years to come. At some point, I definitely want to cruise along the legendary routes through the US and visit the Harley-Davidson Museum™.
