Ho Chi Minh City to Đà Lạt

Vietnam | 306 km

Beginning in the buzzing business and cultural hub of Ho Chi Minh City, where the streets roar with millions of motorcycles, the start point for this adventurous ride is the local dealership, Harley-Davidson® of Saigon. Heading north east from the city to join National Route 20, you’ll pass by the tranquil Trị An Lake. Artificially created to supply water to a hydropower plant, the lake often turns bright green during the summer algae season (July-Sept)! Then, near the town of Đạ M’ri, the ascent begins in the cool, leafy mountains of the Central Highlands of Lâm Đồng Province. In fact, the road eventually climbs to an elevation of 1,500 metres above sea level. Glide along the smooth road surfaces, soak up the sights, and stop off for provisions in the many settlements along the way before you reach the temperate ‘City of Eternal Spring’ – province capital, Đà Lạt.

SEEKING PEACE
Pull into the roadside car park at the Đức Mẹ An Bình (Our Lady of Peace) temple, situated in the picturesque Bảo Lộc pass in Đạ M’ri, where there are tumbling waterfalls and a beautiful statue.

HERITAGE DETECTIVE
The city of Dalat was developed as a resort by the French in the early 1900s. Keep an eye out for reminders of its colonial heritage.
