Gold Coast Hinterland
Queensland, Australia | 243km

These Gold Coast roads are all about the riding and you will be hard-pushed to find better riding anywhere in the world. The twists and turns to Mount Tomewin and into Uki are where the fun starts and the road through to Kyogle is true Hinterland magic that has to be experienced to be believed, but it doesn’t end there. Carve your way through the rainforest from Woodenbong to Rathdowney and then turn left at Coochin for Queen Mary Falls on Carneys Creek Road. This little gem of narrow bitumen turns into Spring Creek Road and then starts climbing as the view on your right becomes more and more impressive. As you burst out of the bush and stop at Carr’s Lookout you too will agree that these roads are the stuff of legend!
Let’s twist again…
The icing on this Hinterland route is the super-twisty Carneys Creek Road – it’s a road that time forgot. It’s akin to adventure riding on bitumen, so, allow extra time on your journey to ride it more than once. You’ll be glad that you did!
Volcano territory
The Scenic Rim region incorporates a group of mountain ranges that form part of the Great Dividing Range. Volcanic influence on the landscape is dramatic with craggy escarpments offset by expansive plains. Spellbinding views abound.
