While pursuing his master\u2019s degree in tourism management from Royal Roads University, he dove deep into what makes riders tick. His thesis \u2013 Understanding Motorcycle Tourism through a Study of Biker Culture \u2013 resulted in the following conclusion:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt is clear that bikers have strong emotional reactions and attachments to riding and to the community and culture. He became an active member of the Okanagan HOG Chapter, serving on their executive until 2016, when he suffered serious injuries after a distracted driver accident in Penticton while on a Poker Run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But he was soon back in the saddle, now on a 2017 Softail<sup>\u00ae<\/sup> Deluxe, which he affectionately calls \u201cTaz Man.\u201d His ride has benefitted from multiple enhancements, such as custom-designed airbrush artwork on the tank and fairing, straight pipes with fishtails and 16-inch ape bars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After all these years, JD is invested personally and professionally in advancing the cause of positive rider experiences.
