Full circle on two wheels
A daughter’s dream ride comes home – decades later
Quebec rider Vicky Arsenault’s love for Harley-Davidson® began as a young girl on the back of her dad’s 1990 Springer®. Her mom rode alongside on a 1984 Softail® with Vicky’s brother on the back.
“I used to tap my dad on the shoulder every time my mom passed us, because I didn’t want them going faster than us,” Vicky laughs.
In 2021, at age 29, Vicky earned her motorcycle permit and picked up her first motorcycle – a 2007 Dyna® Street Bob®. But she couldn’t stop thinking about the bike that started it all. Her dad had sold the Springer in the early 2000s, but she wondered if it was still out there.

After years of searching, she managed to track it down. It had passed through three different owners but was still just two hours away. Nearly two decades after her dad sold it, the old Springer is now back where it belongs.
With the help of her dad and uncle, Vicky restored the bike and rides it proudly today. Her parents usually ride together on the Softail now, but sometimes Vicky will hop on her Dyna and let her dad take the Springer.
“Nothing compares to the feeling of riding that bike,” she says. “It’s a piece of my past and my family’s story.”
