Elvis Presley Homecoming Statue
Tupelo, MS | 264 Miles
This has got to be the “King” of all homecoming statues. Born and raised in Tupelo, MS, this larger-than-life bronze statue actually celebrates a very real moment: when Elvis returned to his roots, rich and famous, to perform at the Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy show.
Sculptor Bill Beckwith actually modeled the statue after a famous photograph from the show, of Elvis in this exact position, his hand outstretched to his adoring fans, standing in almost the exact spot of the statue. Needless to say, this makes for a photo op that no tourist could pass up.
