Has the chapter hosted any notable events?
One of the most notable events in recent times was the AEM Virtual HOG Rally 2022 held on 11 June, 2022. In this thrilling event, 60 riders came together and embarked on an unforgettable ride around the picturesque city of Kota Kinabalu. Riders witnessed the virtual rally together, the energy and camaraderie were palpable as participants shared their experiences, stories and love for riding. It was a remarkable display of unity and passion, showcasing the true spirit of our chapter. The Virtual Rally left an indelible mark, reminding us that even in challenging times, the bond among riders remains unbreakable.
Are there any other chapter activities/events that members can get involved in?
Our members take part in national rallies such as the upcoming SEAHOG (South East Asia Harley Owners Group) 2023 SABAH EDITION, which will take place from 3-10 September. It will bring together Harley-Davidson enthusiasts from across south-east Asia to ride and explore the stunning landscapes of Sabah.
With the H.O.G. Brunei Chapter sponsored by H-D Kota Kinabalu, the harmonious unification allows members from both chapters to actively engage in joint events and activities. A united front is formed, fostering a stronger sense of community.
Can non-members try it out?
We welcome non-members to join our events so that they can get a taste of the thrilling activities our members enjoy and experience firsthand the warmth and camaraderie of our chapter members.
What are the chapter’s favourite ride-out destinations?
One of our absolute favourite places to ride is the captivating district of Sandakan, a 330km ride from Kota Kinabalu. Known as the “Little Hong Kong of Sabah”, Sandakan offers a unique blend of architectural wonders reminiscent of Hong Kong City, along with a reputation for mouth-watering cuisine. As if that weren’t enough, the H.O.G. Kinabalu Chapter has even adopted two adorable sun bears at the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre in Sandakan. Riding through this remarkable destination not only immerses you in a mesmerising urban landscape, but also allows you to contribute to wildlife conservation. It’s the perfect combination of adventure, culture and making a positive impact. Sandakan truly holds a special place in our hearts.
